At Vespers

music (samohlasen)

At "O Lord, I have cried": three stichera from the Octoechos, and three for the holy martyr.

Tone 8, special melody Jehda ot dreva. O divinely-minded Callinicus, * you preferred a holy death rather than life, * and you were truly an image of Christ in his death; * thus you found endless bliss and immortality, * as you dwell in rejoicing * with the choirs of angels and all the martyrs.

A light emitting healing, * a river full of true gifts, * a treatment beyond cost, * a vessel of sanctity: * your relics have been shown to us in this way. * Wherefore let us who approach you with faith * draw forth ever-living health, O glorious martyr, * for whose sake we glorify our wondrous God.

Callinicus, blessed martyr, * having the invisible Lord as an great ally * against your invisible enemies, * you gained the great victory of immortality, * overcoming the bodiless enemy in your body * as you fought the good fight. * You drowned in the streams of your own blood * the one who had boasted of destroying both earth and sea.

Glory –  Tone 8.   The champion of the Faith who destroyed the enemy, * the companion of the martyrs, * has become a temple of the Holy Spirit. * Callinicus, the wondrous support of believers, * the soldier for Christ our God,* is an inexhaustible treasury of healing. * Today, let us celebrate him with hymns.

Now and ever – Theotokion, or Stavrotheotokion

The aposticha are from the Octoechos.

Troparion,  Tone 4.  Your martyr Callinicus, O Lord our God, * in his struggle, received an incorruptible crown from you. * With your strength, he brought down the tyrants * and broke the cowardly valor of demons. * Through his prayers, O Christ our God, save our souls.
