Errata - People's Book for the Divine Liturgies

This page lists errors and omissions in the people's service book, The Divine Liturgies of Our Holy Fathers John Chrysostom and Basil the Great, promulgated by the Council of Hierarchs in January, 2007.

Page 21 - Hymn of the Incarnation (setting C) - the bar line at the end of the second line of music is incorrect.

Page 59 - "We praise you, we bless you" (setting C) - the bar line at the end of the first line of music is incorrect.

Page 73 - The Lord's Prayer (Tone 8 samohlasen) - in the last line, the first note on "evil" should be an F natural.

Pages 118-119 - Vespers prokeimenon for Sunday evening - the music here is simply incorrect; the correct version can be found on page 114 of the MCI Sunday Vespers book:

Page 195 - in the rubric at the bottom of the page, the Scriptural citation for the prokeimenon should be "Psalm 56:6"; verse 8 is not used. The same mistake occurs over the same prokeimenon on page 202. In both places, the prokeimenon is being sung as a hymn, and the prokeimenon verse is not used.

Page 212 - For the Sunday of All Saints, the tone and Scriptural citation for the prokeimenon are correct, but the wrong music is given. Sing the prokeimenon, "Make vows to the Lord, your God, and fulfill them", on page 162.

Page 234 - Lazarus Saturday - the music for the Alleluia is incorrect; the normal Tone 5 Alleluia melody (p. 148) should be used

Page 245 - Nativity of the Theotokos - the Irmos is in Tone 8 (from the second Canon of the feast)  rather than Tone 2 (which is the tone of the first Canon). The melody is correct.

Page 292 - Nativity of the Lord - in the last line of the first part of the Cherubic Hymn setting to "Divnaja novina", the bar line at the end of the first line of music is incorrect, and should be crossed out; and the bar line in "now set aside all earthly care" should come between "now set aside" and "all earthly cares."

Page 296 - Synaxis of the Theotokos - the music for the prokeimenon has been printed in place of the Alleluia. The tone and Scriptural citation are correct, but the Alleluia is sung as on Sunday in Tone 8 (p. 163).

Page 377 - in the Alleluia, cross out the stray syllable "out" in the last measure.

Page 423 - in the second line of the prokeimenon, there is a missing slur on "strength."

Page 444 - in the second line of the kontakion (sixth line of music on the page), the bar line at the end of the line is incorrect.

Page 445 - the verse "Now and ever" should end with a double bar line.

Page 448 - the verse "Amen" should end with a double bar line.

Page 461 - "A new commandment" should be hymn number 10, not 9, and the Scriptural citation should be "John 13:34."
