music (samohlasen)

At "O Lord, I have cried", there are three stichera for the holy martyrs.

Tone 4, special melody Dal jesi znamenie.  Invincible martyrs, * far-famed hierarchs, lights of the universe, * unshakable pillars of the Church of God, * supports of the faith and instructors for believers, * you swept away all error, O fathers of heavenly thoughts, * guiding our souls toward the light * as companions of the angels * and champions of the holy Trinity.

What divine praises can we address * to the blessed and illustrious Ephrem, * the wise Basil, the sublime Capiton, Agathadore, and Elpidius, * as well as the far-famed Etherius and Eugene? * For their lives were venerable * and in holiness they struggled * in order to dwell in the heavenly kingdom.

Putting to death all carnal cares by his struggles, * Basil was able to call the dead back to life. * Capiton, the holy pastor, * exulted in the midst of the flames without being consumed. * By their prayers, O Lover of us all, * grant us pardon and great mercy.

Glory, now and ever – Theotokion, or Stavrotheotokion

Troparion, Tone 4.  God of our fathers, you always deal with us in your kindness. * Take not your mercy away from us; * but through their prayers guide our life in peace.
