This translation of the piligrimage hymn Palomniki Uniontowns'ki is by Father William Levkulic and cantor Jerry Jumba; it refers specifically to the annual pilgrimage to the Basilian monastery of Mount Saint Macrina (Uniontown, PA) in honor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, which is held over Labor Day weekend and has taken place annually since 1934.

(The pilgrimage took place in connection with the feast of the Dormition of the Mother of God (August 15), which on the old or Julian calendar was celebrated on August 27 or 28; this is why hymns for the pilgrimage often mention the Dormition.)

This hymn was reviewed as part of the Hymnal Project of the Metropolitan Cantor Institute. See the discussion page.
