At Vespers

music (samohlasen)

There are six stichera at "O Lord, I have cried": three for the the feast, and three for the holy martyr.

Tone 4, special melody Zvannyj svyše byv. O Theotokos, you conceived the Life * and died according to the law of nature. * You passed from earth to heaven * at the call of him who took flesh from your most pure body. * Therefore, the apostles, coming from the ends of the earth, * stand before you to bury you and sing: * O Living Throne of the King of all, * O Ark of Sanctity, * we praise you because you are the one who gave birth to the Savior of our souls.

The apostles of the Savior were the lights * who dispersed the night of idolatry. * They recognized the divine cloud of light * from which the Unsetting Light shone forth. * O blessed one, they were filled with holy joy * when you were carried in spirit from the people of earth. * O Theotokos, they passed by in sadness, * but escorted you with farewell hymns to the life-bearing grave.

Let creation rejoice with prayers! * The Queen of all goes over to the kingdom of heaven * to reign with him who rules over all creation. * Because of her, the kingdom of Hades has been destroyed. * We have been raised up from the earth * and made worthy to live with the angels. * Patriarchs, prophets, apostles, and martyrs have assembled for her Dormition.

Tone 2, special melody Jehda ot dreva. O most blessed one, * when a godless controversy incited the whole land, * you preached that the Word, out of goodness, * clothed himself in flesh from the Virgin, the Maiden of God. * Strengthened by the power of grace, * you endured cruel tortures of fire and torments until death.

The cursed and evil enemy hastened to possess you through flattery; * adorned with courage, you steadfastly repulsed it. * You endured tortures to the end. * Then, O praiseworthy martyr Myron, * you were taken to the blissful repose of the heavenly kingdom * and to the eternal delight.

When the enemy scourged you, O courageous martyr Myron, * and stripped off the skin from your holy body, * you looked up to Christ, the Prince and courageous Judge. * He extended his divinely powerful hands to you * so that you completed your life with great honors.

Glory, now and ever – Tone 2 samohlasen.  She is higher than the heavens, * more glorious than the Cherubim, * and more honorable than all creation. * Her outstanding purity became the dwelling place of the eternal divinity. * Today she places her all-pure soul into the hands of her Son. * With her, the universe is filled with joy,' and the grace of salvation is given to us.

The aposticha are for the post-feast:

Tone 2, special melody Dome Jefratov.  As the holy apostles escorted your precious and God-bearing body, * they cried out in hymns, saying: * Where are you going, O Lady?

Go up, Lord, to your rest, you and your holy ark.

Come, O people, and let us form a choir * to sing hymns of farewell today * in honor of the passage of the Theotokos.

The Lord swore a true oath to David; he will not go back on his word.

O Virgin, the earth is blessed by your burial; * the atmosphere is sanctified by your passage; * for you fell asleep in the Lord according to the law.

Glory, now and ever – Tone 2 samohlasen.  The most pure Spouse, the Mother of the One in whom the Father is well-pleased, * she whom God had chosen to become the dwelling place of his natures * that had been united without confusion, * today delivers her most pure soul to her divine Creator. * The angels welcome her in a divine manner, * and the Mother of Life is now transferred to life. * She is the lamp of the inaccessible brightness, * the hope of our souls, and the salvation of believers.

Troparion of the saint,  Tone 4. Your martyr Myron, O Lord our God, * in his struggle, received an incorruptible crown from you. * With your strength, he brought down the tyrants * and broke the cowardly valor of demons. * Through his prayers, O Christ our God, save our souls.

Glory, now and ever – Troparion of the feast,  Tone 1.  O Theotokos, in giving birth you preserved virginity; * and in your falling asleep you did not forsake the world. * You are the Mother of Life and have been transferred to life, * and through your prayers * you deliver our souls from death.
