Sadly, some have none of these. Here is an example of another hymn which will probably NOT\u00a0 be included in the forthcoming hymnal.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Here is the version in the <em>Marian Hymnal <\/em>(1984):<a href=\"https:\/\/mci.archpitt.org\/blog\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/O_most_glorious_ever-virgin_Mary.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-1232\" src=\"https:\/\/mci.archpitt.org\/blog\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/O_most_glorious_ever-virgin_Mary.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"713\" height=\"544\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mci.archpitt.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/O_most_glorious_ever-virgin_Mary.jpg 713w, https:\/\/mci.archpitt.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/O_most_glorious_ever-virgin_Mary-300x229.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 709px) 85vw, (max-width: 909px) 67vw, (max-width: 984px) 61vw, (max-width: 1362px) 45vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\n<p align=\"left\">And here is the Slavonic:<a href=\"https:\/\/mci.archpitt.org\/blog\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Preslavnaho_prisnodivy_Marije.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-1234\" src=\"https:\/\/mci.archpitt.org\/blog\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Preslavnaho_prisnodivy_Marije.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"703\" height=\"434\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mci.archpitt.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Preslavnaho_prisnodivy_Marije.jpg 703w, https:\/\/mci.archpitt.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Preslavnaho_prisnodivy_Marije-300x185.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 709px) 85vw, (max-width: 909px) 67vw, (max-width: 984px) 61vw, (max-width: 1362px) 45vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">I have been unable to find any earlier Slavonic publication or source for this hymn.<\/p>\n<h2 align=\"left\">Discussion<\/h2>\n<p align=\"left\">Like <a href=\"https:\/\/mci.archpitt.org\/blog\/blog\/mary-mother-to-us-all\/\">Mary, mother to us all<\/a>, this hymn does not seem to have much of a history in our church; the melody doesn&#8217;t seem to have a strong sense of motion, and\u00a0 the text is not particularly striking.\u00a0 I would much rather see us, for example, translating additional verses for a better-known hymn with a richer tradition, than including this one.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">If someone can find either a sourced version, of an exceptionally good recording of the hymn that makes sense of it, I would be more than willing to take it into account.
