Al-Mas\u012b\u1e25 q\u0101m!<\/p>\n<p>As our final installment of Paschal music in the <a href=\"https:\/\/metropolitancantorinstitute.org\/blog\/songs\/Hymnal_project.html\">Hymnal Project<\/a>, we have THREE spiritual songs:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/metropolitancantorinstitute.org\/blog\/songs\/English\/Christ_is_risen_Christ_is_risen.html\">Christ is risen! Christ risen<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/metropolitancantorinstitute.org\/blog\/songs\/English\/Jesus_Christ_is_risen_from_the_dead.html\">Jesus Christ is risen from the dead<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/metropolitancantorinstitute.org\/blog\/songs\/English\/Let_us_join_and_sing_together.html\">Let us join and sing together<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The first is a bit of a standard, at least in some parishes.\u00a0 See the <a href=\"https:\/\/metropolitancantorinstitute.org\/blog\/songs\/discuss\/Christ_is_risen_Christ_is_risen.html\">discussion page<\/a> for more about this hymn, AND the process we use for editing songs for the new hymnal.<\/p>\n<p>The second is a lovely minor-key carol for Easter, which I would love to see widely sung.\u00a0 It has additional verses (not yet translated into English) which praise the Resurrection, and include all the characters in the story of Pascha.<\/p>\n<p>The third is better known as a choir piece, but (with a few flourishes simplified) works well for congregational singing.\u00a0 It, too, has more verses in Slavonic, but these tell the Easter story in order: the myrrh-bearing women, the stone, the angel, and so on.<\/p>\n<p>For convenience, all three have been added (in both English and Slavonic versions) to the <a href=\"http:\/\/mci.archpitt.org\/sheetmusic\/general\/Paschal_music_supplement.pdf\">MCI Paschal music supplement<\/a>, which can also be <a href=\"http:\/\/mci.archpitt.org\/sheetmusic\/general\/Paschal_music_supplement_booklet.pdf\">printed as a booklet<\/a> on legal size paper.\u00a0 Please try them out, and post below with your comments and suggestions.<\/p>\n<p>May God bless your celebration of the resurrection of his Son!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Christ is risen!
