Čas vže, čeloviče

This Lenten hymn is from 114-115 of Father Stefan Papp's Duchovňi Pisňi (1969).

Sources

This hymn was included in the Užhorod Pisennik (1913) as the very first hymn for the Great Fast, hymn number 78, with eight verses, and the title "Čas už, čeloviče." According to the Pisennik, the melody is that of the hymn "Jordan ribo" (number 55 in the same collection, a hymn for Theophany).

In his collection Duchovňi Pisňi (1969), on page 114, Father Stefan Papp published the six verses above, together with a melody for the hymn. The text of these verses is in fairly close agreement with that in the Pisennik.
