At Vespers

music (samohlasen)

At "O Lord, I have cried": three stichera from the Octoechos, and three for the holy martyr.

Tone 8, special melody O preslavnaho čudese.  O wondrous martyr Nestor, * you girded yourself with the armor of Christ. * Then you overcame Leo the emperor [sic]. * By visible and invisible arrows you fettered Satan * and put him to death, O greatly gifted one. * Because of that, Christ crowned you with the crown of victory.

Truly strengthened by the words of God, * O wise Nestor, you courageously put to death * the arrogant torturer of the martyr Demetrius. * You professed the immortal God who had died and destroyed Hades. * You suffered an unjust death, O glorious one. * Therefore, you have joyfully inherited the unending life.

You were a God-fearing youth, * possessing a handsome body, * adorned with God's grace and gifted with strength. * By the power of the Almighty, * you overcame the might of Leo. * You joyfully suffered martyrdom * and you are numbered among the choirs of martyrs. * As you rejoice with them, remember us.

Glory, now and ever – Theotokion, or Stavrotheotokion

The aposticha are from the Octoechos.

Troparion, Tone 4. You took up the power of the cross from the great Demetrius, * and you set out against the giant. * His terrible strength did not save him, but he was cut down by you. * They killed you for this, O holy Martyr, * but your bravery ushered you in before Christ. * O Nestor, pray for our peace and for mercy on all of us.
